Hi there, I'm Dr. Stone; though, you can call me Bryant. I'm a Licensed Clinical Psychologist with a PhD in adult psychopathology (mental illness). I am licensed in Maryland and work at Maryland Neuropsychological Services in Germantown, MD. I am also PSYPACT-Credentialed, which means I can offer services in most US states through telehealth.
I specialize in substance use but consider myself to be more of a generalist with a bag full of assessments, diagnostic conceptualizations, and treatments for every unique presentation. I offer a range of services, including neuropsychological assessments (like for ADHD and Autism), psychological assessments (like for depression and psychosis), and treatments for adolescents, teens, parents, and adults; though, I find that I work best with young adults navigating life transitions, identity, and emotional growth. I also love working with neurodivergent and LGBTQ+ individuals.
Feel free to check out my website to see my professional work, and don’t hesitate to reach out at Dr.Stone@MDNeuropsychology.org with availability inquiries or scheduling logistics.
I bring an expansive clinical background to the table, with advanced evidence-based training across residential, inpatient, outpatient, community mental health, behavioral medicine, and university counseling settings. I am very comfortable working with complex presentations, including individuals navigating suicidal ideation, co-occurring diagnoses, and severe psychopathology such as psychosis, bipolar disorders, and personality disorders. I find that care for these presentations often makes the problems worse because of the stigma and risk-aversion we see in medical providers, which results in frustrated dead ends and hopelessness. My door is wide open.
I believe that the most important part of my work is building a trusting, collaborative relationship and creating a safe, supportive space where you can truly be yourself and work toward achieving your goals, whatever they might be. I am genuinely interested in understanding who you are beyond the challenges that brought you in, because your story matters and will guide the work we do together. I refuse to simply accept the story written in your chart at face value; instead, I will collaborate with you to figure out what’s happening and what we can do about it. I am confident that I can figure out what’s happening, and there’s always something we can do about it.
